Quarantine
I haven't posted anything since we went into hiding from COVID-19 two weeks ago. I've been anxious, my mental space taken up with news about the virus and the future of our city and our country. This is the virus's first contact with humans, and it doesn't like us. Or rather, it likes us a frightening amount.
Schools and offices are shut. People around the world are being told to stay home, and if going out for essential items, keep 2 metres away from others. Countries are closed down, folding in on themselves, and we're not supposed to hug anyone we don't live with. The Olympics are being postponed for the first time ever. But tonight my neighbour placed a loaf of homemade bread still warm in an LCBO bag at my door, and from 2 m away, she chatted me up for a few minutes and it was so nice. So normal.
