"Mom, can you squeak like a sad mouse?" and other conversation starters

It rained on and off today. So we practiced potty training for the second day. I set a timer and every 20 minutes you'd sit on the potty for 2 m&ms (dictating your colour preferences) or a marshmallow. I can't say it was successful but I gleaned insight into your view of the potty when you asked for a diaper to pee in. After about 4 hours of not peeing. So you're uncomfortable or maybe a bit scared. At least I know that now.

At around 6pm the rain stopped and the grey sky lightened a bit so we both got dressed and ran outside. Other people were also enjoying a rain reprieve. You splashed in puddles and ran in long straight lines down sidewalks or in the middle of the road. A sight in your bright orange monster truck shirt and board shorts. And the eternal rubber boots. At some point a light rain started up and gradually got heavier, until real rain was falling and I hiked you up and carried you home. You got a lot of water in your eyes but you were squealing with delight - for the first 5 min anyway. A warm bath brought you back to your happy place.
