Seventeenth month

According to the "experts," toddlers your age should be able to say two words. Two! You got them all beat. You probably have fifty words. I hope I'm not exaggerating. You can name a bunch of body parts, foods, people, pictures in books, animals and such in the street. And you talk a lot.
About a month ago I wrote down a dialogue you and I shared. I had yawned, so I said that to you: I just yawned. Your response: Ya! Your eyes were bright with interest. Yawned, I said. This time you came back with, Na! A different sound from the same word. Yawned, I said again, for the third time, to which you halfheartedly responded, Na, and looked away. Bored.
