Monday evening thievery at the local community garden
Our new favourite way to reduce the weekly grocery bill:
We finished dinner and kitchen clean up by 6pm and set off for the playground, hoping to squeeze some playtime in before dusk which drops earlier now. Only we didn't reach the playground and decided instead to drop by the vegetable gardens and sneak a few cherry tomatoes. Many plants in the 18 raised beds go untended by this point in the growing season, vines and stems drooping over the sides, leaves withering and fruit falling to the ground, left to rot. It's sad to see. So we help out, lol.
Followed by a quick run around (and above and beneath) the tiniest play structure in town - but there's never any other kids on it, so you love it). Boots and socks completely unnecessary.
